Laser Pointer Retinopathy: A Case Report and Review
Course Description
Laser pointer retinopathy is a retinal tissue injury caused by handheld laser devices directed at the eye, whereby pigment changes occur in conjunction with yellow chorioretinal scars at the fovea. There is a focal retinal pigment epithelium loss and damage to the foveal ellipsoid zone seen on optical coherence tomography. This course explores a case of laser pointer retinopathy and works through the pathophysiology, associated conditions, and management of the condition.
