Course Description
Giant cell arteritis is a vasculitis of the medium to large blood vessels. It is a true ocular emergency because it can rapidly cause severe and permanent loss of vision. The gold standard for diagnosis of giant cell arteritis is the temporal artery biopsy which is described in this article.
